We’re very excited about joining forces to get the word out about the escalating epidemic and the resulting consequences of bullying to students, parents, and school personnel. |
We are developing anti-bullying workshop curriculum for a select number of grades. Each student will have a copy of their own grade-appropriate “The Go-To Bullying Booklet,” loaded with quizzes and multiple choice questions that review and enhance the lesson.
For more information call (562) 946-7263. The creation of the workbook is the result of a collaboration between Champions Against Bullying and the Sheriff’s Department’s STAR Unit.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department’s Success Through Awareness and Resistance (STAR) Unit provides drug and life skills lessons to students throughout Los Angeles County. For the 2012-2013 school year, the deputies assigned to the unit will reach approximately 35,000 Students in 189 Schools.

TEACHERS AND PARENTS - PASS IT ON!!!!!
A teacher in New York was teaching her class about bullying and gave them the following exercise to perform. She had the children take a piece of paper and told them to crumple it up, stamp on it and really mess it up but do not rip it. Then she had them unfold the paper, smooth it out and look at how scarred and dirty is was. She then told them to tell it they’re sorry. Now even though they said they were sorry and tried to fix the paper, she pointed out all the scars they left behind. And that those scars will never go away no matter how hard they tried to fix it. That is what happens when a child bully’s another child, they may say they’re sorry but the scars are there forever. The looks on the faces of the children in the classroom told her
The message definitely hit home. Pass it on or better yet, if you're a parent or a teacher, do it with your child/children.
