"Founder and Crisis Intervention Specialist, Alexandra Penn, and I are proud to announce this heartfelt PSA, Too Late, that depicts teens reading real messages left on actual social media sites to those who took their own lives.

Thank you to the amazing team at Deutsch New York for spearheading this. The response has been incredible. In less than 7 days, this video has gotten over 400,000 views worldwide with media coverage.

Every dollar and voice of support helps save a child's life." #BeNiceNow

Dear Parents and Grandparents:

Your involvement is vital to your child’s safety and personal and social growth.

Over the past 14 years, we have had the pleasure of working with thousands of devoted parents and grandparents.

We understand that you would be crushed if you knew your child was a target of bullying and living a daily waking nightmare at school. The truth is, too many kids suffer – quietly, as they watch their lunch tossed in the garbage, their favorite jacket dunked in the toilet, a mean text or compromising photo hit social media – even goes viral. Their self-esteem crumbles, their grades tumble and overnight, your once happy, even-tempered child becomes unrecognizable.

“What’s wrong?” you ask. The most popular response is, “Nothing.”

Shame, blame, silence and denial - bullying’s by-products - have found yet another home.

That’s why Champions Against Bullying continues to encourage parents and grandparents – our front liners, to join our workshops and find out how to recognize bullying’s signs and listen between the lines. Learning how to help your child early and safely is key, crucial and preventive.

Let us help.

Warmest,
Alex, Leigh and Team CAB

Champions Against Bullying is proud to announce our collaboration with the LA County Sheriff's Department!!!

We’re very excited about joining forces to get the word out about the escalating epidemic and the resulting consequences of bullying to students, parents, and school personnel.

We are developing anti-bullying workshop curriculum for a select number of grades.  Each student will have a copy of their own grade-appropriate The Go-To Bullying Booklet,” loaded with quizzes and multiple choice questions that review and enhance the lesson.

For more information call (562) 946-7263.  The creation of the workbook is the result of a collaboration between Champions Against Bullying and the Sheriff’s Department’s STAR Unit.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department’s Success Through Awareness and Resistance (STAR) Unit provides drug and life skills lessons to students throughout Los Angeles County.  For the 2012-2013 school year, the deputies assigned to the unit will reach approximately 35,000 Students in 189 Schools.

TEACHERS AND PARENTS - PASS IT ON!!!!!

A teacher in New York was teaching her class about bullying and gave them the following exercise to perform. She had the children take a piece of paper and told them to crumple it up, stamp on it and really mess it up but do not rip it. Then she had them unfold the paper, smooth it out and look at how scarred and dirty is was. She then told them to tell it they’re sorry. Now even though they said they were sorry and tried to fix the paper, she pointed out all the scars they left behind. And that those scars will never go away no matter how hard they tried to fix it. That is what happens when a child bully’s another child, they may say they’re sorry but the scars are there forever. The looks on the faces of the children in the classroom told her

The message definitely hit home. Pass it on or better yet, if you're a parent or a teacher, do it with your child/children.
